In 2013 we changed churches. At this new church I met a young man named John Robinson. Three month later we started dating, in December 2014 he asked me to marry him, and in May 2015 we married. He's the love of my life and so thankful that he is my husband. Needless to say though my focus for the farm when out the window. And we shut the business part of it down. We kept all the animals but they weren't in major production.
Now I've been married two years and I've been working here on the farm for my mother and grandmother for a little over a year and we're ready to get this farm back to life. We have ordered baby chicks and are getting out chickens back in major production. We will sell our eggs and butcher chickens for our own meat consumption. We also got a baby goose to raise with our chicks. It will be our guard goose. I'm slowly working on getting the rabbits back in production. My rabbit barn was basically dismantled after I got married so it needs a lot of work and I need to revamp my breeding stock. We will be selling bunnies again as soon as we can. We have the biggest garden we've had in a long time and its absolutely beautiful! We will put up for ourselves and then if we have much left we will sell it. Now for some things we want to do: We want to get our goats in production. We have two females right now and we will eventually get a male, start breeding and milking the girls. We want to get a greenhouse built and running by fall so we can have it this winter. We have been working on building a canning kitchen and hope to have it finished soon. We want to build a free standing shelter for the horses away from the barn area. We are considering getting pigs but still debating. We are also considering doing our classes again but it will take a while to get there. And something else we are considering is a "grand reopening" and have a big event here at the farm. Right now it's a dream. We have a lot to do and consider before that becomes reality. We also want to have a presence on YouTube and hope to have that going in the next 6 months. So that's what's going on with the farm and a small peak into my life. I'm gonna try and do blog posts way more often....stuff about my life, homesteading, homemaking, and so much more! Stay tuned!

So I guess I should start out this blog with something about me :)
I was born April 11, 1992 in Panama City, Florida. I live with my parents Gail and Kelly Sr. I have two brothers Kelly Jr. and Jason. I lived in Southport, FL until I was eleven. Then we moved to Wausau, FL in 2004. We always had goats and chickens. We also raised New Zealand and California meat rabbits. Dad would take them down to Dunnellon, FL to a processor. When we moved we got rid of all the animals except our dogs. Not long after we moved we started back up with chickens. In 2005 my parents started buying me horses. I had always wanted horses and was so excited to have them. Last year we decided to get started back up in the rabbits and goats. I wanted to do the rabbits on my own this time and it be my little business. It is a lot of fun. And I'm doing pretty good with it. =) We have always been big into gardening. We have always have a garden. We put up a lot of the veggies. We can some and freeze some. I love living in the woods on a farm. It's my life. =) I'm country as country can be. I love fishing, hunting, gardening, animals, bonfires, woods, walking, swimming, and so much more. I want to live for God more important than anything else. I want myself and my farm to show Gods love and I want to make sure people know that I serve God. I guess that's all for now. Feel free to comment or ask questions about me or my farm or anything!!! Love and God bless, Ashleigh Mount Ya'll Please excuse me as I'm still trying to figure all this out. =) I'm learning as I'm going! I'm really excited about this and hope I can get it all going soon
